The Rotary Club of Erin is holding a contest to select a logo for the Erin Rotary Riverwalk Trail.
The trail project is a joint initiative of the Town of Erin and the Rotary Club of Erin that will build a trail network capitalizing on the town’s relationship with the West Credit River.
This will be a multi-year project that will eventually include connections from the villages of Erin and Hillsburgh to the Elora-Cataract Trailway.
The Riverwalk logo will be used on trail maps and signage, trail markers, promotional materials and printed and digital media.
The logo design must include a shamrock and should reflect the river as a natural resource and focal point for the project. It may also emphasize in some way the theme of “active lifestyle.”
The logo design contest is open to all residents of the Town of Erin or to anyone who works or attends a school in the Town of Erin.
The logo designs will be judged and final selection of the winning logo design will be made by a panel of three judges consisting of a member of the Erin Rotary Riverwalk Committee, a member of the Rotary Club of Erin and member of the Town Council of the Town of Erin.
The winner will be announced by mid-July.
Full contest details and contest rules are available on the Rotary Club of Erin website, erinrotaryclub.ca. Entries will be accepted until June 30.
In 2016 the Town of Erin sponsored a study that confirmed the feasibility of a Riverwalk Trail system in the Town of Erin.
Plans are in progress to complete Phase 1 of the trail system in 2017. This initial trail section will link downtown Erin Main Street to Riverside Park at Church Street following a riverside path that will include an observation platform.
