ALTON – Grade 12 visual arts students from Erin District High School have been hard at work since September producing a thematic body of artwork.
Each student picked a topic to explore. Topics were personal, social or political in significance. According to teacher Lisa Filion, “Whether it is an environmental issue, a reflection of oneself, a look into human psychology, or an introspective exploration of possible themes of importance today, we [students] hope to start a conversation and perhaps even create change.”
Students presented their art show called Beyond the Canvas during the week of Jan. 15 to 19 at the Alton Mill.
