Starting in February, horse enthusiasts are invited to a three-part equine health education series taking place in the village of Erin.
Presenters will include equine health, feed and care specialists, focusing on a variety of topics including: welfare, aging horses and end of life options, spring feed and pasture management and equine hoof care practices.
Workshop dates are:
– Feb. 8, equine welfare and aging with Gayle Ecker, director of Equine Guelph;
– Feb. 22, spring feed and pasture preparation with Alf Budweth, Budson’s nutrition specialist and Mark Eastman, soil and pasture program manager, Credit Valley Conservation; and
– March 8, horse hoof health, barefoot trimming and traditional farrier/horseshoeing with Jessica Fobert, barefoot trimmer and trainer, and Paul Fischbach hot-shoeing farrier and former farrier college instructor.
All classes will include hands-on examples and open discussions. This series will provide new and useful information for horse owners, stable managers, and those thinking of buying their first horse.
