Environmental Sculpture Day at Elora Poetry Centre

The Elora Poetry Centre held its third annual Environmental Sculpture Day on June 25.

Eighteen pieces were exhibited in various areas of the property, including around the ponds. Jerry Prager, also an environmental sculptor, was there to sign his newly released chapbook Echoes in the Timbers.

At 5pm Robert Priest, well-known spoken word poet and musician from Toronto, read from his work, after which guests stayed to talk, meet new friends, and enjoy finger food and refreshments.

Most of the sculptures will remain for a few more weeks and can be viewed by appointment by calling 519-846-2551.

The Elora Poetry Centre’s  next event will be held on July 30 when Montreal poet Asa Boxer and singer/songwriter Abigail Lapell will be back by popular demand.

This event will be partially funded by a live “whacky poetry carnival auction.”
