Due to the success of last year’s event, the Saugeen Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) in partnership with the Bruce Community Futures Development Corporation are planning to deliver the Hawk’s Nest.
This Dragon’s Den inspired competition encourages entrepreneurs from various sectors to pitch their business ideas in attempt to secure financial support from local investors (Hawks).
This year, contestants from Grey, Bruce, Owen Sound, Wellington North and Minto can compete for a possible $30,000 or more investment in their business.
Prior to submitting applications, entrepreneurs will receive assistance with preparing their business plans at free training sessions.
Training sessions will be offered in September in four locations:
– Y Employment Centre, Owen Sound, Sept. 8;
– LaunchIt, Minto, Sept. 12;
– Lake Huron Training Centre, Kincardine, Sept, 22; and
– Walkerton Legion, Walkerton, Sept. 26.
Registration
Participants can register for one of these sessions by contacting www.sbdc.ca www.bruce.on.ca, 1-888-832-2232 or hawksnest@sbdc.ca.
The Hawks Nest Live Show will be at the Knights of Columbus Hall between Walkerton and Mildmay on June 13, 2018.
The Hawks will be announced in the near future.
“We are excited to bring the Hawk’s Nest to the Grey, Bruce, Owen Sound, Wellington North and Minto areas for a second time,” stated Rose Austin, general manager of SEDC.
