ABOYNE — Dust off those blue suede shoes and plan to attend an Elvis-themed movie night at the Wellington County Museum and Archives (WCMA) on Sept. 9.
Doors open at 5:30pm and tickets are $10 per person. Free pop and popcorn will be provided for a screening of the 2022 Elvis film. Candy and a Coca-Cola or root beer float are available for $5 each.
Following the movie, Rick Clark will highlight the history of Elvis Presley and his favourite red and white branded beverage, Coca-Cola, in the latest installation of the Wellington County Collects exhibit series Cola Goes Better with Elvis: The Rick Clark Collection.
The exhibit, which runs until Jan. 14, 2024, features a colouring wall and an area to listen to Elvis’ music and learn about the different albums on display.
Wellington County Collects is a community program the museum launched in 2013 featuring collections from Wellington County residents.
The program supports the museum’s mandate to tell the stories of people, places, and events in Wellington County and to involve members of the community in the exhibition development process.
The Wellington County Museum and Archives is located at 0536 Wellington Road 18 between Fergus and Elora.
