The Minto Arts Council is hosting photographer and encaustic mixed media artist, Elske deGroot in her exhibit called Barns at the Minto Art Gallery.
The show runs from Sept. 8 to Oct. 29. The artist will be in attendance at an artist’s reception on Sept. 15 at 6:30pm.
DeGroot was the first place winner with her piece Wash Day at the Arts Council’s Juried Art Show in June.
Her work is conceptual and minimalist in nature, yet provides incredible depth.
She will exhibit 19 pieces displaying barns in their environments. Many of these barns are in disrepair and approaching significant ages. Her works preserve, in imagery, these magnificent structures for future generations.
DeGroot currently hangs her camera in Fergus.
Art Gallery is located on the top floor of the Harriston library at 88 Mill St. Harriston, ON

– Tuesday from 6 to 8pm;
– Wednesday from 1 to 3pm and 6 to 8pm;
– Thursday from 6 to 8pm
– Friday from 1 to 5pm; and
– Saturday from 11am to 1pm.
