The Elora Women’s Film Society will present two works of local filmmaker Alberta Nye on Oct. 29.
Nye will be a guest and speak about and answer questions about her films, So I’m Dying…Now What? as well as Smiling at Death.
Since Nye’s own brush with death, she has been curious about other experiences of a fate that faces everyone.
These two intriguing and challenging films bring an interesting perspective and Nye will be there to share her stories about the process of making the films as well as about her experiences, the society notes in a press release.
Shelley Carter will also speak about her Death Perceptions show that inspired many conversations as well as art pieces on the subject.
Carter held Death Cafes with a death doula, worked with Hospice Wellington, and got an enthusiastic community response to the whole concept.
This event is at the Elora Centre for the Arts on Oct. 29 from 1 to 4pm, just two days before Halloween. Admission is $12.
