GUELPH – Under the baton of guest conductor Gerald Neufeld, the Guelph Chamber Choir will join forces with guest choir The Elora Singers for Choral Masterpieces: music for two choirs and organ on April 6 at 7:30pm at St. George’s Anglican Church in Guelph.
Christopher Dawes will accompany the choir on the Casavant organ.
The great organ at St. George’s was installed in 1926 as a part of a major bequest to St. George’s from the local Cutten family.
Renovations and improvements in the 1970s, 1992 and 2016 have made it one of the most note-worthy organs in south-western Ontario.
“I’m excited to present this concert augmented by the professional voices of The Elora Singers, Neufeld said.
“With almost 60 strong voices, we will be able to present some of my favourite choral works.”
After an extensive search process and two concerts this season with the finalists, the Guelph Chamber Choir will introduce Charlene Pauls as its new artistic director and conductor along with details on the 2019/20 choral season at this concert.
Single tickets for Choral Masterpieces: music for two choirs and organ on April 6 at 7:30pm at St. George’s Anglican Church are $25 each or four for $80.
