ELORA – The next Elora Rocks home game will be a chance to support kids’ cancer research.
The senior hockey team will host its Team Addy Night at the Jefferson Elora Community Centre on Nov. 15 at 8:30pm.
Proceeds from the event will go to Team Addy’s efforts to raise money for cancer research at SickKids hospital.
“Join us for a night of hockey, prizes and community spirit,” stated an Elora Rocks social media post announcing the event.
“Be sure to arrive by 8pm to take part in our pre-game festivities and opening ceremonies.
“Let’s pack the stands and cheer loud to show Team Addy just how much support they have.”
The organization is named for Addison Hill, a local teen who died from a rare and aggressive form of cancer.
Friday’s game, which will see the second-place Rocks facing the first-place Alvinston Killer Bees, will include a special jersey reveal, officials said.
There will also be some interactive in-game activities, and an after party with live music.
Tickets will be available at the door at a cost of $10 for adults and $5 for seniors, alumni and students.
