ELORA – Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a local resident found at the bottom of the Elora Gorge on Wednesday morning.
Wellington County OPP officials say emergency crews responded to “an injured person call” on the David Street bridge above the gorge on Feb. 22 at about 8:45am.
“It was reported that a person was lying along the Irvine River in the Elora Gorge,” police stated in a press release.
“A 70-year-old resident of Elora was removed from the gorge but pronounced deceased at scene.”
Police are investigating the incident along with the Office of the Chief Coroner.
