TORONTO – Sheri-Lyn and Randy Mullin of Elora are $131,714 richer after winning the second prize in the Lotto 6/49 draw on April 10.
The married parents of three, who say they are occasional lottery players, were shocked recently when they learned of their windfall.
“My husband and I were checking some older tickets when I remembered a quick pick I had in my wallet,” stated Sheri-Lyn.
“I said as a joke, ‘I better sign it in case I’m a big winner!’”
Sheri-Lyn said when she scanned the ticket, she thought it was a joke.
“I had my husband double check on his phone – it was a surreal feeling,” she said, adding her and her husband will invest their winnings.
“This is so exciting! It feels unreal.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Esso on Wellington Road 7 in Elora.
