ELORA – The Elora Antique and Vintage show returns to Elora mid-April continuing its 30-year run.
A big reason for its success and longevity is the dedicated dealers who sign up every year, organizers say.
Karen Poce from Chatsworth is one of these and her passion is vintage textiles and antique quilts.
A gifted seamstress, she keeps busy over the winter repairing and refurbishing quilts, bedspreads and vintage blankets in preparation for the coming show season.
“I truly believe that a house is not a home without the inclusion of textiles,” Poce said in a press release.
“It may be spring but there is nothing like warming ourselves up by wrapping us in tattered wool blankets and frayed family quilts sitting on pillows in front of fireplaces and wood stoves.”
Poce will bring linen tea towels, cheery tablecloths, dainty hankies, furry chenilles, sustainable quilting fabric and of course antique quilts to the Elora show.
And she’ll join more than 30 dealers with a wide range of antique and vintage goods for sale.
The antique show is at the Elora Curling Club, 27 David St. W., in Elora. It runs April 15 from 10am until 5pm and April 16 from 11am until 4pm. Adult admission is $10. Kids under 13 are free.
