RTO4 (Regional Tourism Organization Four) and Centre Wellington will be hosting an Experiential Tourism Development Workshop for tourism businesses in Elora and Fergus.
Topics covered in the workshop include:
– participation in some new experiences in and around Elora and Fergus, created specifically for the workshop, and with tourism partners in the community.
– business benefits of expanding, adding, or getting into experiential travel.
– case studies, examples, and economic frameworks providing data, information, and ways that tourism businesses across Canada are expanding into experiential travel.
– opportunities to meet and network with others in the community who want to position Elora & Fergus for its experiential tourism potential.
– access to several take-away tools and templates.
– learning why travellers want experiences. (Ideal guests for experiences; EQ as a way of profiling travellers)
– thinking differently as a business (Blue Ocean thinking) and how that applies to creating experiences.
– understanding more about storytelling, and the power of storytelling as a key visitor motivator.
– application of sustainability and best practices in Responsible Travel with application to experiential travel.
– hands-on learning activities on a variety of different topics.
– access to two leaders of experiential travel in Canada for three days.
A fee of $100 reserves a spot and includes meals (excluding alcohol), 2.5 days of hands-on training, tools to enhance business, all workshop materials and participation in three newly created tourism experiences. This fee helps offset the overall
