Electric vehicle charging stations installed in Grand Valley

Four  electric vehicle (EV) charging stations have been installed in Grand Valley’s municipal parking lot on the West Back Alley off Amaranth Street West, thanks to Tesla’s Destination Charging program.

Four parking spaces have been allocated for EV charging. In addition to three Tesla charging stations, Tesla has installed one universal (J1772) connector which allows an EV from any brand to charge, at no cost, 24 hours a day.

The stations are now ready for use. Drivers can locate them through the EV Charging Station-finding app of their choice, and Tesla drivers will see the Grand Valley location listed on the in-vehicle map and on the Tesla website.

While travellers wait for their vehicle to charge they can experience the village’s charm and character and visit the local shops and restaurants, officials note.

In a press release, the town said it is “proud to be able to provide this feature to support green energy, encourage tourism and modernize our village.”
