Election fever is heating up in two municipalities, and mayoralty races have begun.
In Erin, county councillor Lou Maieron has decided to challenge incumbent Rod Finnie.
Councillor Ken Chapman is hoping to take Maieron’s spot at the county in Ward 9.
Other races include council, with John Brennan, Deb Callaghan, George Silva, Barb Tocher, and Josie Wintersinger running in the at-large election, with four to be elected.
For the Upper Grand District School Board, Kathryn Cooper and Ralph Edwards are the candidates.
Steve Redmond is running for the separate school board.

Former mayor Clint Martin has decided to see if he can re-take the seat he lost to incumbent Mayor Chris White.
David Volk is the only candidate in Ward 1. Nicholas Dalton is running in Ward 2, Doug Breen is in Ward 3, and Steven Liebig is challenging in Ward 4 against John Scott.
In County Ward 7 Bill Cloutis is against Don McKay.
Public school board
Two are challenging Bruce Schieck in the Minto, Wellington North, Mapleton ward: Irma Devries and Doris French.
