WELLINGTON COUNTY – The Ontario government is recognizing over 3,400 community volunteers through the 2023 Ontario Volunteer Service Awards.
Wellington North citizens who received this award in 2023 were recognized at the volunteer and newcomer event held on Sept. 14 at the Mount Forest Sports Complex.
These folks include Debbie Atkinson, Jack Baker, Vern Job, Bonny McDougall, Laird More, Alan Rawlins, Conner Schmidt and Margy Smart.
The Ontario Volunteer Service Awards recognize adult and youth volunteers for outstanding contributions and years of continuous service at organizations such as non-profits, schools, community centres, hospitals, libraries and community associations.
They were to receive their award on Sept. 17 in Kitchener.
“Volunteers are the heart of Wellington North, and we look forward to recognizing and celebrating volunteerism in our community showing that Wellington North is a great place to live, work and raise a family,” said Mayor Andy Lennox.
