ERIN – The dance team from Erin District High School completed its first season with several first place awards.
It went up again teams from across Ontario in the Bedazzled Dance Champions competition on May 16 at the River Run Centre in Guelph.
“I am so proud of the hard work and dedication the dancers have shown this year,” said teacher Ashley McCauley.
“We have had practice a minimum of twice a week at 7am since September and we were the longest running team at the school this year.”
While some of the dancers had experience in studios outside the school, many did not, and they developed dance skills in a very short time period, said McCauley.
“The team is fortunate to have Caitlin Ennis, a Grade 12 student, as their choreographer. She has volunteered countless hours to perfecting routines, selecting music, and conditioning the dancers,” said McCauley.
