EDEN MILLS – Exhilarating and technically thrilling, internationally renowned fiddler Shane Cook and The Woodchippers perform at the Eden Mills Community Hall on Nov. 4 at 8 pm.
A Canadian and U.S. National fiddle champion, Shane Cook is recognized by the Canadian Fiddlers’ Hall of Fame as “one of the finest fiddlers in the world today.”
He is joined by The Woodchippers, a three-member group of multi-instrumentalists, singers and step dancers.
Together they create an exciting mix of dynamic musicianship, high energy and engaging stage presence. Toes will be tapping.
Cook is one of Canada’s most highly awarded fiddlers. He is a three-time Canadian Open National Champion, a three-time Canadian Grand Masters Champion, a Grand North American Champion, and is the only foreign fiddler to win the US Grand National Championship, a feat he accomplished at just 17 years of age.
The Woodchippers are Emily Flack (Leahy) on piano, vocals and dance; Joe Phillips (The Art of Time Ensemble) on double bass and guitar; and Kyle Waymouth (five-time national step dance champion) on guitar and dance.
Shane Cook and The Woodchippers’ new debut album, Be Here for a While, was released in 2021 and was a 2022 Canadian Folk Music Award Nominee for Instrumental Group of the Year and Traditional Album of the Year.
