ELORA – Elora Community Theatre (ECT) has added another play to its 2018-19 season.
The show, billed as being a “for youth only” musical, is entitled Wonderland and will be performed at the Fergus Grand Theatre June 21 to 23, for four performances only.
Auditions will start on April 11.
Wonderland, with book by James DeVita and music and lyrics by Bill Francoeur, is an “unabashedly silly adaptation” of Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking Glass, officials say.
“With hip-hopping music, it is an upbeat, coming-of-age story that audiences of all ages will adore,” states an ECT press release.
ECT officials invite anyone in grades 4 to 10 to sign up for auditions, to be held April 1 and 4 from 6:30 to 9:30pm.
Auditions and rehearsals will be held at the ECT workshop, 1010 Rivers Edge Drive, West Montrose (at the corner of Highway 86 and Katherine Street).
Those auditioning should prepare one song (preferably a musical theatre piece) and be prepared to do a cold read. Email Deb Stanson at debstanson@gmail.com to book an audition.
