The Governor’s Residence, home to the County of Wellington economic development office, officially opened its doors on Oct. 21.
Grand opening celebrations included the official opening of the Governor’s Residence, as well as the launch of the new Wellington economic development webpage.
The webpage will be a central location where current and prospective businesses and site selectors can learn about the county’s key sectors, business support resources, available land and buildings, and more.
“When we sat down with over 270 Wellington businesses, we heard they want to be connected, helped in their growth and they want to be celebrated. All of our activities are in line with these themes,” said George Bridge, chair of the economic development committee.
Warden Chris White states “the Governor’s Residence is here to serve as a physical location where business owners and investors can discuss opportunities that exist within Wellington County.”
Economic Development Officer Jana Reichert noted, “The county has put the resources in place to help businesses thrive within their current environment, adjust to market changes and discover opportunities for future growth.”
The Wellington County economic development office is located at 74 Woolwich Street, Guelph and is in place to support, attract and retain business within its seven member municipalities.
