The Elora Centre for the Arts is welcoming the exhibit “These Things are Tired,” as well as the artist, Erin Perry, who will take on the role of artist-in-resident throughout the duration of her show – from July 20 to Sept. 15.
A house sets the stage for some of the most banal and dramatic moments of our lives. Embedded in this routine are the seismic moments that alter a person’s awareness in a pivotal instant.
These memorable, disruptive instants are the focus of a new collection of works by Erin Perry.
Through association, combination, and exaggeration, she reconstructs these crucial points in time into material re-tellings.
Perry’s presence in the centre will be enable her to infiltrate the exhibition during its run, while hosting open studio days.
Perry was born in Montreal in 1979 and currently has a studio in Toronto. She received her BFA from the Emily Carr University of Art and Design and MFA in Sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design. She has exhibited internationally since 2003.
