DROM event coming to NDSS raising funds for MRI+ Campaign

MINTO – The MRI+ Campaign Committee is back again with another fundraiser.

Located at the Norwell District Secondary School track on June 7 will be a DROM event with all proceeds going toward the MRI+ Campaign.

“The students are going to be doing DROM in the afternoon, and then we’re doing a community event in the evening,” said development officer at the Palmerston and District Hospital Foundation Dale Franklin.

“There’ll be food trucks and the DROM event, and if people want to come to just watch or grab something at the food truck.”

Visitors can come to the event by donation to help the MRI+ Campaign committee reach its goal of $8 million. Registration is required with a fee of $25 to participate in the DROM event.

DROM

For those who are unaware, “DROM is a unique combination of drumming (the DRUM) and meditation (the OM) to energize, relieve stress, bring clarity and calm – all while having fun drumming on an exercise ball or on tables and chairs,” states the DROM website.

From 6 to 7pm, music will play by local DJ Cody; from 7 to 8pm, the DROM event will begin; and from 8 to 9pm there will be live music and a chance to mix and mingle.

“It sounds like it’s a ton of fun,” said Franklin.

“I haven’t been to that before, but some of our committee member have done it.”
