LISTOWEL 3 MISSIONARY 3
Listowel grabbed the lead from the first shot of the game. A quick shot by Zach Gingrich put Listowel on the score board. Phil Shantz and Josh Shantz assisted.
Missionary tied the game midway through the period. A shot into the top corner, blocker side by Curtis Bults hit the twine. Dave Scholten and Zach Leslie assisted.
Missionary took the lead late in the second with two quick goals. A low shot by Pat Landman netted the go-ahead goal.
Dave Scholten snapped in a rebound a minute later for the insurance goal. Scott Vandepas, Devin McGuire and Curtis Bults drew assists.
Phil Shantz scored to start off the third and edge Listowel closer. A wrap-around along the glove side rolled the puck into the net.
Listowel pulled their goaltender in the final minute for the extra skater and it paid off. With nine seconds left on the clock, a clean win by Curtis Wagler at the left face-off circle gave Phil Shantz the chance for a blistering slapshot that tied the game.
FLORADALE 3 BETHEL 1
Two unanswered goals by Clinton Dechert in the first period gave Floradale the early lead. Javan Martin assisted on the first tally.
Bethel came back with a goal to start the second period. A scramble at the net resulted in Ben Wideman snapping in his own rebound. Nathan Holland and Matt Martin assisted.
A short-handed goal midway in the third by Floradale put the game away. Greg Martin rushed the net and tucked the puck into the short side for the goal, assisted by Ryan Martin.
DRAYTON 8 COMMUNITY 2
Three quick goals in the first period set up a solid lead for Drayton. Community responded for one goal late in the period to keep the game close.
However, with four unanswered Drayton goals in the second, the game was already determined.
One more final goal for Drayton in the third completed the thumping.
Community added a goal in the final minute.
Eric Deckers led the scoring with three goals and three assists, followed by Jessie Hoekstra with two goals and two assists. Brandon Rumph earned three assists and Colton Hoekstra had one goal and an assist. The other two Drayton goals were scored by Darrin Mohle and Rob DeWeerd.
The Community goals were scored by Graham Wideman and Kevin Gingrich, and assisted by Gingrich, Gerald Martin, Kyle Wideman and Ryco Martin.
