Listowel claimed the only goal of the first period with a little over a minute to play. Brad Gratz took a centring pass from the left boards and blasted the puck along the ice for the goal. Travis Kuepfer and Ben Jantzi assisted.
Listowel added a goal to start off the second. Zach Gingrich crossed the blue line and rifled the puck through the five hole, assisted by Josh Shantz and Mike Gingrich.
Zach Gingrich worked with his linemates again midway through the period to strengthen the lead. Gingrich slipped the puck in on the short side for the goal. Mike Gingrich and Josh Shantz drew assists.
Listowel added a short-handed goal to finish the period. Curtis Wagler snapped a screened shot through the crowd to put the puck in the back of the net, assisted by Gratz.
Community finally beat the Listowel goaltender to spoil the shutout bid. With 14 seconds left Dustin Bults sent the puck into the top corner for a power play goal. Kevin Gingrich and Tony Martin assisted.
DRAYTON 7 FLORADALE 4
Drayton opened the game with a goal midway through the first period. A centring pass by Eric Decker gave Jason Mohle the chance to tip in the puck for the goal. Darrin Mohle also assisted.
Drayton added an insurance goal before the period ended. Colton Hoekstra snapped a low shot in on the short side, assisted by Mark Scholten and Herman Mulder.
Floradale responded early in the second. Clinton Dechert snapped the puck on net and Greg Martin buried the rebound. Assisted also by Nick Martin.
Drayton came back before the period ended. A scramble at the net resulted in Eric Decker slipping the puck underneath the net minder, assisted by Aaron Keunan and Darrin Mohle.
Floradale stepped into the third period with an early goal.
Braeden Gingerich grabbed a loose puck, skated it down the ice and beat the goaltender with a wrist shot.
Drayton responded with a 40-second flurry that resulted in three more goals. Jessie Hoekstra, Darrin Mohle and Eric Decker scored the trio of tallies. Decker, Hoekstra, Mohle and Keunan drew assists.
Corey Wideman added another pair of goals for Floradale, but Hoekstra responded with one more goal for Drayton to complete the convincing win.
The game tied the best-of-five ‘A’ Division finals at one game each.
