Drayton Entertainment has issued an overview of its 2008 season.
Among the productions this year are:
– The Ballad of Stompin’ Tom, a tribute to the Man of the Land, with story and songs by Stompin’ Tom Connors, and script by David Scott, running May 6 to 31;
– The Drawer Boy, an inspiring dramedy, by Michael Healey, running from June 10 to 28;
– A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, an epic musical comedy, with book by Burt Shevelove and Larry Gelbart, and music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, originally produced on Broadway by Harold S. Prince, running July 15 to Aug. 9;
– Steel Magnolias, a celebration of life and laughter, by Robert Harling, running Aug. 12 to 30;
– Legends, a salute to musical pioneers, conceived, written and directed by Drayton Entertainment artistic director Alex Mustakas, running Sept. 4 to 27.

St. Jacobs Country Playhouse in St. Jacobs:
– The Mousetrap, a classic whodunit, by Agatha Christie, Feb. 13 to March 2;
– Swing, a tribute to the big band era, by Alan and Blanche Lund, March 12 to April 6;
– Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, a swindling musical “con-edy,” with book by Jeffrey Lane, music and lyrics by David Yazbek, based on the film, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, written by Dale Launer, Stanley Shapiro and Paul Henning, running June 18 to July 12;
– One for the Pot, a “tea-sing” British farce, by Ray Cooney and Tony Hilton, running Oct. 8 to Nov. 2; and
– Cinderella, a traditional British pantomime, directed and choreographed by Trudy Moffat, from Nov. 19 to Dec. 21.
