Diamond and Schmitt Architects Inc. has been selected to design the new Cambridge Performing Arts Complex in Galt for Drayton Entertainment.
Close to two-dozen proposals were submitted from across Canada.
An advisory committee of representatives from the City of Cambridge, Drayton Entertainment, and University of Waterloo School of Architecture interviewed a shortlist of five before settling on the Toronto-based firm.
“Diamond and Schmitt has an illustrious reputation, receiving over 150 regional, national, and international awards for design,” said artistic director Alex Mustakas, of Drayton Entertainment.
It is anticipated the groundbreaking for the new Cambridge facility will be held in the fall, with a project launch by 2012.
