MISSIONARY 4 – BETHEL 1
Missionary used a power play to score the first goal midway through the opening period. Curtis Bults and Pat Landman moved the puck around the net and left Dylan Bults with a tidy rebound. A quick shot into the open corner and Missionary had the lead.
Bethel responded shortly after to tie the game. A pass by Justin Yutzi set up Ben Wideman alone at the opposite post. Wideman pulled the puck away from the goaltender and slipped it in behind the post.
But Missionary took the lead late in the second period with a short handed goal. Dustin Bults undressed the defence and skated in on net. A shot into the pads left a rebound for Scott Vandepas to bury behind the netminder.
Missionary went on to add a second shorted goal on the same penalty. Dylan Williams sent a pass across the crease and Devin MCGuire tipped the puck into the corner.
Missionary struck for another power play goal late in the third period to put the game away. Nathan Rhame scored with a screened shot from the point, assisted by McGuire and Landman.
DRAYTON 2 – FLORADALE 2
Drayton struck for a goal early in the first period. Mike DeWeerd blasted a shot to send the puck through the crowd and into the net. Assists went to Jason Mohle and Darren Mohle.
Floradale tied the game in the final minute of the period. A three-on-one rush ended with Braedon Gingrich jabbing the rebound into the net. Ryan and Greg Martin assisted.
Drayton took the lead early in the third period with a power play. A tight shot from the left corner by Darren Mohle gave Drayton the go-ahead goal. Assisted by Jason Mohle and Joe Heenan.
But Floradale tied the game back up in the final minutes of the game. Javon Martin teed up Josh Brohman at the right point. Brohman rifled a low slap shot to send the puck screaming to the back of the net to end the game in a tie.
COMMUNITY 4 – LISTOWEL 2
Community took the lead early in the first period. Jeff Horst blasted a hard shot from deep inside the left side and sent the puck into the top corner, assisted by Gerald Martin and John Horst.
But Listowel tied the game already in the next shift. Phil Shantz scored the goal with a hard wrist shot, assisted by Brad Gartz.
Community took the lead early in the third period. Jeff Horst skated in along the left side and rifled the puck over the goaltenders glove for the goal, assisted by John Horst and Gerald Martin.
Community added aninsurance goal shortly after. Tony Martin blasted a shot through the goaltender and the puck slowly rolled into the net. Graham Wideman and Cal Martin drew assists.
Listowel refused to roll over and came back for a goal in the next shift. Josh Shantz forced the puck past a busy netminder to claim the goal, assisted by Phil Shantz and Travis Shantz.
Listowel pulled their goalie in the final minute for the extra skater. However, a quick pass by John Horst gave brother Jeff a shot into the empty net to complete his hat trick and put the game away.
DRAYTON 5 – COMMUNITY 2
Drayton scored two goals in the first period to build up an early lead. Darren Mohle jammed in a rebound to record the opening tally. Cam Mohle slipped the puck under the goaltender pads for the second goal. Assists went to Jason Mohle, Ben Kraal and Mark Scholten.
Drayton added another pair of goals in the second period. Dave Mulder started the period with a goal in the short side. Then Herman Mulder scored in the final seconds to finish the period. Both goals were assisted by Joe Heenan.
Community finally lit up the score board midway through the third period. A pass in front of the net by John Horst gave Kyle Wideman a shot into the top corner. Jeff Horst also assisted.
Drayton responded with a goal shortly after. Eric Decker blasted a shot on net and Jason Mohle poked the puck through the legs of the goaltender. assisted by Brad Bakker.
John Horst added one more goal, assisted by Kyle Wideman, for Community but it was too little too late.
LISTOWEL 2 – MISSIONARY 1
After two scoreless periods, it was Missionary opening the third period with a goal. A heads-up pass by Pat Landman gave Dustin Bults a rush down the right side boards Bults blasted a hard shot along the ice for the goal.
The lead was short lived however, as Listowel tied the game 10 seconds later. on a scramble at the net ended with Phil Shantz sending the puck behind the net minder, assisted by Zack Gingrich.
Listowel went on to take the lead later in the period. A pass from the left boards gave Zack Gingrich the puck between the face-off circles. Gingrich sent the puck under the crossbar with a rising wrist shot to win the game.
FLORADALE 6 – BETHEL 0
Floradale owned this game from the beginning. They stacked up four goals in the first, and scored a goal again in each of the next two periods.
Gary Martin led the team with two goals and an assist. Josh Brohman and Ryan Martin each had one goal and one assist. Javon Martin and Alex Martin each scored a single goal for Floradale.
