CENTRE WELLINGTON –The Fergus Grand Theatre is set to present award-winning drag comedienne Pearle Harbour in Agit-Pop!, a “hilarious and heartbreaking cabaret for the end times.”
The show comes to the Fergus Grand for one performance on Nov. 16 at 8pm.
Weaving her signature wit and demented storytelling through the headlines, and fresh off a run this past summer at the Stratford Festival, Pearle takes on the world, from climate catastrophes, to nuclear anxiety, the lust for housing, billionaire babies, fake news and real history.
Accompanied by musical director Stella Conway, Agit-Pop! re-imagines the number-one hits of David Bowie, Judy Garland, Roy Orbison, Britney Spears, and more, as you’ve never heard them before.
“This show is just pure fun,” raves theatre coordinator Eric Goudie.
“You would think that any show focused on current events would be gloomy and depressing, but Agit-Pop! is the complete opposite.”
Organizers advise the performance contains mature themes and is intended for audiences 16+.
The show is the latest offering in the Fergus Grand Theatre’s 2023-2024 Small Stages Ontario theatre series. Tickets are $35 each, available by calling the box office at 519-787-1981, or online at fergusgrandtheatre.ca.
