Centre Wellington’s growth management strategy draft recommendations report is now online.
The municipality hired Stantec Consulting Ltd. to prepare the strategy for land use to understand the implications of growth pressures.
The report recommends a preferred land use option in response to feedback and also identifies areas where future urban expansion could occur.
It is estimated that by 2031 the township will have to accommodate 13,050 more people, 4,545 more households and 7,070 jobs.
Accommodating forecasted growth will require major investment in infrastructure and the provision of recreational services.
The draft report is now available at centrewellington.ca/growth. Public consultation will take place before the report comes to council in the fall.
