GUELPH – Autism Dog Services (ADS) is excited to announce the very first Doggie Yoga charity fundraiser, says ADS fund development manager Adele Alfano.
The concept was spearheaded by Guelph resident and ADS fundraising committee member Melanie Goens.
“What makes this event different is that our very own service dogs in training will be in attendance, along with their puppy raisers and of course yoga enthusiasts. And all proceeds will benefit ADS,” said Goens.
“It will be a great opportunity to fully participate, ask questions and see our service dogs in action. And have fun in the process!”
Harcourt Memorial United Church will be hosting the event in their church gym and there will be lots of parking for participants.
In the spirit of charity, local Guelph resident and certified yoga instructor Carolyn Weatherson of Maha Pura Yoga has donated her time to lead participants through light yoga moves and meditation.
The event takes place May 6 from 10am to noon at Harcourt Memorial United Church, 87 Dean Ave. in Guelph.
Tickets are $40 per person and all proceeds will benefit Autism Dog Services.
Bring your own yoga mat, towel and water.
