The downtown areas of Clifford, Harriston and Palmerston are now officially community improvement project areas in Minto.
Council recently passed the bylaw designating sections of those communities.
Mayor David Anderson said there was a lot of work done by the town’s Economic Development Officer Belinda Wick-Graham.
Treasurer Gord Duff explained the designation is part of a process the town has worked on over a few years. It also falls within the strategic plan endorsed by council.
He said that the plan ties in with the streetscape work.
Anderson added that having projects in place is also useful in economic development funding applications.
He noted Wick-Graham “has been doing an awful lot of work through OMAFRA.”
Councillor Wayne Martin said he is involved in the streetscape project and, “It’s all starting to tie together.”
