FROM LEFT: Adam Martinelli, volunteer coordinator, and Laura Calvert director of Camp Quality receiving a cheque for $3,000 from Clark McAlpine, secretary treasurer of the Optimist Club of Centre Wellington. The funds are a matching grant from the Foundation’s Spread Relief Program based on the 2018 tournament. Each year the club hosts the Ryan Giddy Memorial golf tournament, with proceeds going to Camp Quality, a camp for children diagnosed with cancer. In the past 12 years the club has raised over $150,000 for the camp. This is the third time the club has received a matching grant from the foundation for $3,000 for this event. The Foundation is the charitable arm of Optimist International in Canada and it is supported by Optimist clubs and club members. Both the Optimist Club of Centre Wellington and Camp Quality are very thankful for this support.
