Deadline to reach troops for holidays is Oct. 25

Anyone wanting to send something to a loved one serving in Afghanistan – or simply a general show of support for Canadian troops in general – must do so by Oct. 25 if they want it to reach the recipient by Christmas.

Anything sent after that date is not guaranteed to reach Afghanistan in time.

With that date in mind, the armory in Cambridge will be holding an event on Oct. 25 where people can wrap or drop off gifts, which will in turn be forwarded to Belleville, and then overseas.

On Oct. 24 there will be a  Red Friday Rally at the cenotaph beside Waterloo City Hall, sponsored by M&M Meats. A banner will be signed and sent to soldiers in Afghanistan.
