Dairy Farmers invite Canadians on dairy farm virtual tour

Dairy Farmers of Canada (DFC) recently launched a new website dedicated to the commitment of dairy farmers and the quality of Canadian milk.

The website, www.CanadianMilk.ca, provides information about 100 per cent Canadian milk and includes six videos about healthy cows, safety standards, accountability, strict regulations, consistent quality, and innovation – all of upmost importance to Canadian dairy farmers.

“We invite all Canadians to meet and visit some of our farmers on their farm through these visually informative videos,” said Geneviève Latour, assistant director, marketing and nutrition communications at DFC.

“Canadian dairy farmers are very passionate and dedicated to producing high quality Canadian milk and it is beautifully captured in these videos.”

The six videos follow three dairy farming families: the Bouwman family from Chilliwack, British Columbia; the Keunen family from Kerwood, Ontario; and the Irving family from Pugwash, Nova Scotia. Each family takes viewers through their farm and shows them how they ensure quality on their farm from how they care for their cows to how milk production is managed in order to produce high quality Canadian milk.

“These videos clearly reiterate that Canadians can feel confident about looking for the 100% Canadian Milk symbol and choosing dairy products made from 100% Canadian milk,” adds Latour.

Look for the symbol. The 100% Canadian Milk symbol is a seal of origin that guarantees the dairy products you’re buying are made from 100% Canadian cow’s milk.

When buying dairy products made from 100% Canadian milk renowned for its quality, purity and great taste, it also supports Canadian dairy farmers. Make sure to look for the symbol on the packaging when picking up dairy products like cheese, yogurt, butter, cream, and ice cream.

DFC strives to create favourable conditions for the Canadian dairy industry, today and in the future. DFC works to maintain policies that foster the viability of Canadian dairy producers and to promote quality Canadian dairy products made from 100% Canadian milk as part of a healthy balanced diet.
