Bright daffodils adorned the tables set for the St. John’s Lutheran Church and Harriston Minto Cancer Society soup and sandwich luncheon held April 11 at the community centre in Clifford.
Fay and Walter Demerling were greeting everyone at the door welcoming them to the first community get-together of spring, regardless of the snowfall. Eleanor Litt and volunteers served lunch.
Helen Braun-Kreller and Joan Buhrow looked after the baking and silent auction tables at the event, whichis co-sponsored by the St. John’s Lutheran’s Women’s Missionary League and the Harriston-Minto Cancer Society.
The Cancer Society notes April is the month to fight back.
Each daffodil pin purchased helps support Canadians living with cancer and helping the Cancer Society fund research.
The league will be celebrating 25 years at the One in Spirit, One in Purpose convention to be held July 5 to 8 in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Pastor Jody Rinas holds Sunday service at 10am at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Clifford with both Sunday School and sdulta bible classes at 9:30am.
