FERGUS – A 90 metre portion of Forfar Street East, between Douglas Crescent and Gartshore Street, was closed by Wellington County OPP for around two hours on June 5 for a collision investigation.
According to police, a 51-year-old cyclist was sent to hospital with non-life-threatening or altering injuries after a collision with a pickup truck at the intersection of Forfar and Gartshore Streets around 6pm.
Three OPP vehicles with flashing lights could be seen from Gartshore as neighbours looked on at the activity.
The roadway was reportedly reopened around 8:30pm and the incident remained under investigation as of June 6, according to Wellington OPP spokesperson Jacob Unger.
