CW Falcons grab first District 10 Championship win in 16 years

The Centre Wellington District High School Falcons boys hockey team won its first championship in 16 years.

On Feb. 18, the Falcons won the District 10 Championship with a 5-1 win over J.F. Ross.  

The team, made up of grades 9 to 12 is coached by Murray Skerritt and Brett Turner. Both have coached the team since 2005.

“It was a great win for our school.  We have not won the District 10 championship for 16 years,” said Skerritt

Scoring in the finals were Kyle Roden and Ryan Mueller with two goals each and Riley Klompmaker with one goal.  Nicki Preisenhammer got the win in net. CWDHS is hosting the CWOSSA championship in Fergus on Feb. 25 and 26.
