CENTRE WELLINGTON – Council here was paid a total $219,418 in 2023, with Mayor Shawn Watters receiving an honorarium of $47,286 and the six councillors each paid $23,716.
Expenses, such as conference fees, and payment for attending certain meetings, brings the total paid by the township to $219,000.
Watters was also paid $9,708 for sitting on the Centre Wellington Hydro board and another $2,567 for sitting on the board of the Grand River Conservation Authority.
Municipal treasurers are required to make this information public as of March 31 each year under the Municipal Act.
