CVC invites landowners to tree planting information session

MISSISSAUGA – Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) is inviting rural landowners in the Credit River Watershed to an online information session about its private property tree planting programs.

The session will run Monday, July 21 from 12pm to 1pm. Landowners will have a chance to learn how easy and cost-effective it can be to plant trees on their properties with CVC.

“Private landowners are helping us reach 30 per cent forest cover in our communities, the threshold for healthy watersheds, by planting trees on their properties,” said Aaron Day, forestry program manager.

Landowners with properties of two acres or more are eligible for funding to offset up to 100 per cent of the costs of tree planting on their properties.

Funding covers planting plans, labour, and tree stock. Landowners will work with CVC’s forestry specialists to develop planting plans to suit the needs and conditions of their properties.

During the online event, participants will also have a chance to ask CVC’s forestry experts their questions. To register, visit cvc.ca/events or call 905-670-1615 ext. 221.

Landowners unable to attend the event can connect with CVC’s stewardship coordinators at stewardship@cvc.ca.
