MISSISSAUGA – Brampton and Peel Regional councillor Michael Palleschi was acclaimed as Chair of Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) at the inaugural 2024 board meeting held Jan. 19.
According to a CVC press release, Palleschi has been a member of CVC’s board of directors since 2015, and this marks his first term as board chair.
The CVC board consists of 12 municipal representatives from member municipalities within the Credit River Watershed.
Palleschi said he’s honoured to hold the position and is looking forward to creating a watershed “where a diversity of life thrives.”
The CVC board also acclaimed Halton Hills Mayor Ann Lawlor as vice-chair.
This will be Mayor Lawlor’s first year as vice-chair, and her sixth in service to the board.
Erin Mayor Michael Dehn is a member on this year’s board.
The conservation authority is accountable through the board to the municipalities and residents in the Credit River Watershed, the press release states.
Board members approve and guide CVC policies, programs, projects and budget.
