ELORA – Centre Wellington has announced that its current treasurer and managing director of corporate services, Dan Wilson, has been hired as the township’s new chief administrative officer.
Wilson has accepted the position and will commence his new role on Jan. 4.
“On behalf of the members of council, we are pleased to appoint Dan Wilson as the township’s chief administrative officer,” Mayor Kelly Linton stated in a Dec. 7 press release.
“We are very fortunate to have an excellent successor within the organization.”
Linton continued, “Dan has proven himself as a talented and thoughtful leader who will continue to use his forward thinking and results-driven style to meet the expectations of our leadership team and our rapidly growing community.
“I want to also offer our present CAO Andy Goldie a sincere thank you for his years of dedication and leadership to our township and congratulate him on a well-deserved retirement.”
Wilson brings extensive senior leadership experience to the role, officials say, including four years in his current role with the township.
“I am excited to be Centre Wellington’s next CAO,” said Wilson. “Further contributing to the long-term development and success of the township in this role is a great opportunity and a privilege.
“I am looking forward to working with our amazing staff, council, and the community on the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.”
Goldie announced his retirement earlier this year, following 33 years in municipal government, nearly 20 with Centre Wellington.
