From Sept. 28 to 30, Centre Wellington will join the rest of the country in celebrating culture.
“Local culture contributes significantly to our vibrant community and Centre Wellington is thrilled to once again be a part of the national celebrations,” states a press release issued by the township.
Community development coordinator Elizabeth Bender said, “In Centre Wellington every day is culture day and we are extremely lucky to have such a rich cultural community that deserves to be recognized and celebrated.”
Free events and activities take place across the community and this year’s Culture Days highlights many local cultural groups, individuals, spaces and activities.
The three-day interactive celebration encourages people to participate in everything from music and local historical tours to dance, theatre, agriculture and so much more.
Local residents can help kick off Culture Days at the Fergus Grand Theatre on Sept. 28 from 4 to 6pm with local talent, a chance to appear on stage, and cake.
Centre Wellington Culture Days guides are available online at centrewellington.ca/culture or in person at the Elora Information Centre, Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex and the Chamber of Commerce as of Sept. 25, or at any of the Culture Days locations during the event weekend.
Nationally Culture Days is celebrating its ninth anniversary, with thousands of free activities from a wide range of disciplines in hundreds of Canadian cities and towns from coast to coast to coast.
