FERGUS – On Feb. 20, three suspects took a senior citizen’s wallet and then stole about $15,000 from her bank accounts.
The incident occurred at the Fergus Walmart on St. David Street North (Highway 6) on Feb. 20. It started when three suspects, two men and one woman, watched an 82-year-old woman enter her secret bank card PIN during a purchase. Once in the parking lot, the suspects distracted the woman by telling her she had a flat tire and then stole her wallet. The thieves later used the information to withdraw money from the woman’s accounts.
