Credit cards are longer useable when it comes to paying certain bills in Wellington North.
Finance committee chairman Dan Yake said there was a lengthy discussion about the acceptance of credit cards by the township to collect for fees and various charges, specifically in the recreation department but everywhere else as well. “We don’t accept them now.”
At one time, Wellington North accepted credit cards for everything, including property taxes, but stopped doing so due to the service costs.
The committee reported that neighbouring municipalities were polled and none of them accepted credit cards either.
