The Concerned Residents Coalition (CRC) is holding a community meeting about the proposed Rockwood quarry on Feb. 13 at 7pm at Rockwood United Church.
Mike Schreiner, leader of the Green Party of Ontario, is scheduled as the guest speaker.
The meeting will provide updates on board actions since the Ontario Municipal Board (OMB) adjournment of the hearing on the Hidden Quarry in October.
There will also be updates on the new applications by James Dick Construction Limited to Guelph-Eramosa Township and Wellington County for re-zoning the proposed Hidden Quarry site from Greenlands/Core Greenlands/Agricultural to Industrial (extractive).
The implications of the revised Wellington County Official Plan and its new role in overseeing zoning amendments will be explored, as well as the recent MPAC decision to dramatically reduce the tax assessments of pits and quarries.
