It’s one of those times when a few fences might make for better neighbours.
At a recent Wellington North council meeting, councillor Bob Mason said, “We again have cows on the loose in West Luther.”
He noted that the incident involved the same property as before.
“It’s been going on for two years now,” he added.
The cattle are drinking from neighbouring swimming pools and trampling their gardens according to the reports..
The farmer, who was not named, has suggested the neighbours drain the pools so the cows cannot drink out of them.
Mason said the township needs to have a bylaw in order to get the farmer to put up a fence.
“People are a little upset,” he said.
Mayor Mike Broomhead agreed the situation could not be allowed to continue.
