The Fergus Grand Theatre has launched its fall arts curriculum, a series of workshops and classes designed to educate, empower and entertain.
First up is a free workshop in event marketing, being held at the theatre on Sept. 9 from 7pm to 9pm, hosted by Elora-Fergus Tourism. This workshop will be of interest not just to the theatre’s rental clientele, but anyone responsible for promoting community events.
The curriculum’s main courses will begin on Sept. 15, and will run every Tuesday night until Dec. 1.
Take 2 Drama will be offering two acting classes, one for children aged 8 to 12 and another for teens aged 13 and up. The cost to register for either class is $185 per participant.
Theatre coordinator Eric Goudie will be teaching the other two courses. The first is a technical arts course for high school students who wish to become approved technicians at the theatre. The second course, new this year and entitled “The Grand Impresario” is an event production course for prospective producers, presenters, or anyone else who has been put in charge of a live event. There is no cost for either of these courses, but full attendance is required for accreditation.
