WELLINGTON COUNTY – “Welcome to our new website,” are the words that greet visitors to wellington.ca.
The County of Wellington recently revealed a newly redesigned site meant to provide an enhanced user experience, improved navigation, quality content and streamlined services.
“Residents and visitors count on our website to access information,” county manager of privacy and information Rachel Wilson stated in a news release.
“There have been considerable changes in technology since 2017, when the site was last redesigned.
“This year, we’ve updated the site to enhance how we service the public so that we can continue to offer an optimal online experience.”
According to the release the new site includes:
– a modernized, efficient, user-friendly design;
– enhanced accessibility;
– streamlined online services, available around the clock;
– specific mobile-friendly design, meant to perform well even on smaller screens;
– refreshed content to provide accurate, up-to-date information; and
– a new events calendar.
The redesigned site also includes a featured events section on the homepage.
In addition to doing public consultation, the project leads also consulted with staff, and looked at available data and best practices from other municipalities, officials say.
The new site was launched in June. To provide feedback on the new site, visit wellington.ca/form/website-feedback.
