County councillors are once again looking for top volunteers in their seven municipalities.
The plan is to honour individuals or a group from each of the municipalities in April, the month used to salute volunteers everywhere.
The county partners with the Volunteer Centre of Guelph-Wellington. It is seeking nominations for the fourth annual awards.
The award recognizes people who devote their volunteer time and effort to the continuous development of local, nonprofit and charitable organizations in Wellington County.
One recipient is chosen from each municipality.
The Volunteer Centre encourages anyone working for a nonprofit charity or municipality to considering nominating a volunteer.
Nomination packages are available by contacting the Volunteer Centre at 1-866-693-3318 or 519-822-0912. Forms can also be obtained at www.volunteerguelphwellington.on.ca, or from the county website, www.county.wellington.on.ca.
All submissions must be received no later than March 31. Each nomination must have a completed nomination cover sheet (included with the package) and answers to the selection criteria questions. Failure to include the cover sheet will disqualify the nominee.
Nominations can be no longer than three pages, and a Microsoft Word format is preferred. Incomplete nominations will be disqualified.
Nominations can be emailed to Christine Oldfield at coldfield@volunteerguelphwellington.on.ca, or faxed to 519-822-1389, or delivered to the centre at 46 Cork Street East, Unit 1, Guelph Ont. N1H2W8.
